We offer a well-defined learning pathway, a wide variety of courses, a choice of timetables and the possibility of preparing for a diploma, all with the friendly atmosphere and personal attention that stems from learning in a small group.
I grew up in the North East of England and studied history, literature and languages at universities in the UK and Paris before qualifying to teach in the French university system. After a number of years in the Paris region, I moved to Devon almost ten years ago where I have taught French at the University of Exeter and, since 2023, at the Alliance Française-Devon. I try to make my lessons at the Alliance as interactive as possible to help give students a real taste of and for French language and culture.
I am from a small place in the Alps called the Ubaye Vallée. I grew up in international environments across Brussels, Paris and London, becoming a fluent bilingual French and English speaker. I love travelling, learning new languages and attempting to communicate with locals to discover their culture. Most recently I have taken up learning Arabic.
I come from Vendée. I hold a PhD in medieval literature, have taught French language and culture at the University of Exeter, and joined the Alliance Française in 2025. I love languages, the way they expand my world. I have a curious mind: when I’m not in the classroom exchanging ideas with students, I spend time progressing my research. I also like painting.
Breton-born, I have been living in the United Kingdom for the past five years. I enjoy creating moments of exchange and discovery around the French language and culture. A former trainer in France, I value above all transmitting with simplicity and authenticity. Outside of work, you’ll often find me hiking the scenic trails of Devon.
