What to expect: meet at Newton St Cyres train station (accessible from Exeter St Davids Station)

Challenge: speak French throughout the walk—a great way to practice in a relaxed, supportive setting!

The route: approx. 5km walk on public footpaths along farmland - crossing roads at times and likely to meet pigs on the way.

After the walk: stop a local pub for more conversation and refreshments!

Practical Info:

  • Group Size: 6-10 participants.
  • Dogs Welcome ✅ With conditions:
    • You must have a leash with you at all times.
    • Please ensure your dog is friendly with other dogs.
    • We may ask you to leave the group if your dog causes any issues.
    • Alliance Française Devon accepts no liability for any damage caused by your dog to people, land, livestock, private property, etc.

  • Alliance Française reserves the right to cancel a course or event when there is an insufficient number of participants.
    In this event, payments will be refunded.
  • Fees are not refundable or transferable if you fail to complete a pre-paid course/ event.
  • In case of severe weather conditions, classes may be cancelled. We will do everything we can to either offer a replacement class or transfer the class online. However, if neither of these are possible, no refund will be offered.
  • Books are required for most regular courses and Book Club. These are not included in the fees and should be purchased separately.
  • Students enrolling for any 10 or 11 weeks course will automatically become members of our association and be invited to our AGM.
